Municipal council installed — Damien Roussel re-elected mayor

The municipal council following the March 15, 2026 elections is officially installed. Damien Roussel is re-elected mayor in the first round. The "Commune de Baon" list received 100% of votes cast.

Heritage

Wash house restored — works complete

Restoration works on the communal wash house are complete. The roof has been entirely redone with traditional Burgundy flat tiles. The wash house is now open to visitors.

Our village

Baon is a village in the Yonne department, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, located 14 km east of Tonnerre. Its 58 residents live on a territory of 8.57 km² of limestone plateaux, crossed by the Froides Fontaines stream.

The village is home to the Saint-Vallier church, a recently restored wash house, and the Baon marshland — a 21-hectare Natura 2000 site, listed for its wetland meadows and remarkable biodiversity.
